Could Dancing Molecules Transform Osteoarthritis Treatment?
Patients ask me about arthritis all the time. In fact, a patient asked me today what medication they can take to halt or reverse arthritis.

Sadly, we don’t have such a medication yet — but research, such as this study in the Journal of the American Chemical Society about dancing molecules, suggests ways that (in the future), we may be able to stop or reverse arthritis. Here’s a brief quote from the Medical Dialogues article:

“The study revealed that cyclic growth factor mimetic peptide was more effective than a linear one… these findings suggest that enhancing the movement of these epitope assemblies improves their ability to stimulate a positive response in chondrocytes compared to less mobile assemblies.”

Looking at ways to energize cartilage cells or actually get cartilage to grow is incredibly interesting and I can’t wait for it to be a reality.
