This study, authored by Lutul Farrow (a fellow member of the International Patellofemoral Study Group), shows with computer modeling what anatomical factors are linked with recurring patellar dislocation. The last thing that I want to do is operate for no reason. Seeing that I don’t have a crystal ball, I rely on studies such as these to determine which patients are likely to dislocate their patella again and in these cases fix the knee so that it doesn’t happen again.
